I am so over all of these intense hustling, “secret to success”, “you’re doing it all wrong” type books, so I was surprised when I went to Exclusive Books to find that this first book of Ali Abdaal, Feel-Good Productivity, resonated with me so much.
Upon further inspection, and absorbing it on Audible, I discovered why:
Abdaal’s book actually is a brilliant antidote to exactly my frustrations with those type of books. His argument and perspectives were super refreshing.
Basically what the book’s boils down to, is that if you’re wanting to be your most optimal/efficient/excellent/best (insert hustle type word here), you just have to actually enjoy what you’re doing 🤯
To ensure sustainable output, and prevent burnout from happening on the second month of the year, Abdaal offers stories followed by experiments for you to try when you find yourself resenting your responsibilities.
It quickly gets you back on track to find ways to have fun with some of the mundane, and how having fun, is actually one of the biggest hacks to success, because in itself, having fun is the success.
How brilliant!
This was such an inspiring, paradigm-shifting and energising listen (he narrates it himself).
Listen to a sample of the book if you think it could work for you.

Writing-out and assembling my reflections into story-formatted pieces to share with strangers on the internet, in the hopes that they may benefit from them, seems to bring me great joy.
If you enjoyed this piece and feel like supporting it, you can do so buying me a virtual coffee.
