I only started listening to this one about a week ago, and I’m already completely submerged in it’s teachings.
Written by Scott Galloway, professor of marketing at NYU and founder/co-founder of a few high ticket companies, The Algebra of Wealth distills key elements of building your financial (or economic) security, into a simple and actionable framework.
Galloway explains the roles that hard work, luck, and perseverance plays, and offers mature insights into career choices, investing, and personal development.
Through data-driven insights and personal anecdotes, Galloway teaches and reminds you that true wealth isn’t just about money, but also about purpose, relationships, and the freedom to live life on your own terms.
My Takeaway:
As someone who has had a frown on his forehead since forever, this book really helped me understand, and be a lot more at peace with - and even excited about - the capitalistic system, and my financial future (and even present).
It gives hope that, through discipline and patience (like most things) you can expect to reap rewards over time.
This book will essentially become a playbook for me now instead of a once-off read.
I also really appreciated the lack of shortcuts or ‘quick hacks’. It’s much more about understanding how the system works, what financial security looks like to you, and how you can to get there by following the algebraic formula:
Wealth = Focus + (Stoicism x Time x Diversification)
I can highly recommend this book to literally anyone older than 13 who has dealt with money.

Writing-out and assembling my reflections into story-formatted pieces to share with strangers on the internet, in the hopes that they may benefit from them, seems to bring me great joy.
If you enjoyed this piece and feel like supporting it, you can do so buying me a virtual coffee.
